November 2008: Twenty years ago, Botswana was one of the 20 poorest countries in the world. Today, it is considered the richest non-oil producing country in Africa, with a fast-growing service sector, diamond mining, tourism, and manufacturing.
A public safety system is therefore critical to the country. Realising the need to streamline crime and criminal record management, the government commissioned the deployment of a Crime and Criminal Recording System, to aid the Botswana Police Service in fighting crime. A key piece of the system is reporting and analysing crime intelligence, using Elixir Technology’s Report.
Elixir Report offers multiple language support, together with rich graphical elements and intuitive report layout control.
“We make data work for people,” says CEO Lau Shih Hor. With Elixir Report, the Botswana police enjoys a sophisticated reporting and analyses system, without having to paying through its nose.
Police officers have expressed immense satisfaction with the reporting functions that also improve operational management and policy formulation. Data analysts with skills for creating complex analytical reports can easily fulfill sophisticated analysis requirements.
Going forward, the Botswana Police intends to equip non-IT users with simple report customisation options that do not require any knowledge of the underlying technical details.
Elixir’s dashboard component, known as Perspective, is designed to fill this gap in dynamic information presentation.
Elixir Repertoire
